About Travis

Rooted in Faith, Family, and Community

Travis Griffin’s life and leadership are grounded in faith, family, and service. Since his earliest days of faith, Travis has been guided by Proverbs 3:5–6—a steady reminder to lead with humility, trust, and purpose.

Travis is married to his best friend, Jenny, and together they are raising three beautiful children. The Griffins made their home in southwest Austin for many years, where Travis served as a Travis County Republican Precinct Chairman. But by 2016, with their family growing and Austin getting weirder, they began searching for the best place in Central Texas to live, work, and raise a family. They found it and made the move to Leander.

For the past 10 years, the Griffin family has proudly called Precinct 264 home and has been actively involved in their church and community.

Like so many families in Leander and Williamson County, Travis and Jenny care deeply about safe streets, strong schools, responsible local leadership, and preserving the quality of life that makes their community special. Travis believes politics should never feel distant, hostile, or performative—it should be something neighbors engage in together, grounded in respect and shared values.

That neighbor-first mindset is not theoretical. When national calls to “defund the police” created real concern locally, Travis and Jenny stepped forward—not as politicians, but as residents. Together, they led a grassroots effort in Leander to publicly support local law enforcement, organizing and distributing “We Support Our Leander Police Department” signs throughout the community.

Neighbors responded. The signs went up across the city, conversations followed, and a clear message was sent: Leander stands with the men and women who protect our community.

Travis was willing to act when his community needed leadership, and enjoyed connecting with his neighbors and local law enforcement along the way.

A Life of Service in Republican Politics

Travis’s career in Republican politics spans nearly three decades, but it has never been about titles or ambition. It has been about doing the work, often behind the scenes, to help conservative principles succeed.

As a young field operative, Travis was on the front lines of the effort that led to Republicans gaining control of both chambers of the Texas Legislature following the 2002 elections. That victory marked the first time since Reconstruction that Republicans held unified control—a historic milestone achieved through disciplined grassroots organizing and coalition-building.

After many years working in the field, Travis returned to the Republican Party of Texas to serve as Political Director from 2009 to 2012. During that time, he helped guide the party through another defining moment—the attainment of a Republican supermajority in the Texas House of Representatives.

These victories didn’t happen by accident. They were the result of strategy, organization, volunteer engagement, and a deep respect for the importance of grassroots leadership.

Experience That Gets Results

In addition to being a family man and small business owner, Travis currently serves at the Texas Capitol as Chief of Staff for State Representative Cecil Bell, Jr., a staunch conservative from Montgomery County and Chairman of the House Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs.

Across 11 Texas legislative sessions, Travis has worked closely with lawmakers, candidates, and grassroots leaders, gaining a practical understanding of how conservative ideas are translated into effective policy.

As Political Director of the Republican Party of Texas, Travis also worked extensively with Precinct Chairs, helping recruit, train, and support the grassroots leaders who form the backbone of the party at the local level. That experience shaped his deep respect for the role Precinct Chairs play—and his belief that strong precincts are essential to winning elections and sustaining conservative governance.

“Widely admired for his integrity, expertise, creativity, and formidable work ethic, Travis Griffin has demonstrated a deep, enduring commitment to good government and the electoral process, and he may take justifiable pride in his outstanding contributions to the Lone Star State.”

Why Effective Conservatism Matters

Travis is a conservative—firmly committed to limited government, individual liberty, personal responsibility, and respect for life. But he also believes conservatism must be effective to matter.

Being an effective conservative means standing firmly for your values while also knowing how to advance those principles in the real world—by persuading, organizing, listening, and building trust. It means growing the Republican Party by welcoming participation and engaging neighbors where they are, rather than driving people away through division.

Conservatism succeeds when it builds durable majorities, not when it fractures over internal disputes.

Why He’s Running—Here, at Home

Travis has worked on some of the most consequential Republican victories in Texas history. He’s helped win in battleground environments and played a role in building enduring conservative majorities.

Now, he wants to bring that experience home.

Precincts are where elections are won. They are the foundation of strong communities, effective campaigns, and lasting conservative leadership. Travis believes the best use of his experience is not chasing the next title—but serving his neighbors and strengthening the Republican Party where it all begins.

After the historic victories of 2024, Republicans face both opportunity and responsibility. Majorities must be protected, renewed, and grown—not just for today, but for our children and grandchildren.

That work starts locally.
